There is a low saddle between the two Gleichberg mountains, over which the road between Römhild and Hildburghausen runs. A little higher up, for example at the height of the Steinsburg Museum, you can see up to the summit of the 641-meter-high Kleiner Gleichberg with its basalt rock piles.
