Unterbacher See Loop

Lake Unterbach is located south of Düsseldorf and extends as far as Hilden. It is one of the region's most popular recreational areas and offers a wide range of opportunities for leisure, sports, and relaxation. The circular path around the lake is well-developed and ideal for hiking, walking, or jogging. Along the way, the surroundings alternate between forest, water, reed beds, and meadows – creating a very diverse landscape.The spacious meadows surrounding the lake are particularly beautiful. In good weather, picnics, games, or simply relaxation are often held here. Many families bring blankets and games – badminton, Frisbee, or soccer are not uncommon. There are also boat rentals, barbecue areas (some require reservations), and several places to stop for refreshments – from kiosks to restaurants.The lake is very busy on weekends and during school holidays, especially in good weather. Those seeking peace and quiet should start as early as possible or visit on weekdays. Unterbacher See is also easily accessible by public transport or bike.
