The Buxheimer Haus is a former house of the Buxheim Charterhouse in Memmingen in Upper Swabia. The listed building is now called Martin-Luther-Platz 7.
The house is located on Martin-Luther-Platz, west of the former churchyard of the Protestant parish church of St. Martin and thus in the spiritual center of the city. The back of the house borders directly on the western city wall. Today, the Köhler Passage leads to Westertorplatz on the north side of the house with a wall opening.
The house was sold on December 17, 1406 by Heinrich von Eisenburg to the Buxheim Charterhouse, which used it from then on as a town hall. The current building with the Swabian pointed gable dates from 1551. In 1724, a sandstone coat of arms of the Charterhouse was attached next to the front door, which was removed after secularization and kept in the town hall. When the house was renovated in 1951, it was put back in its original place. The front door with the simple paneling was installed around 1800. After secularization, the house became private property and was renovated and renewed in 1951 and 2002.
The house, which has a Swabian pointed gable, has two floors. The front is painted with inscriptions and pictures using fresco technique.
