Quartier du Bruch / Lavoir du Bruch

The Bruchviertel (Quartier du Bruch) used to be a suburb of the city where many winegrowers lived. From the bridge by the historic washhouse ("Le Bruch", Lavoir du Bruch) you have a beautiful view of the Lauter. On the Faubourg du Bitche, which runs on both sides of the Lauter, you can take a lovely stroll along the canal. The street is characterized by historic half-timbered houses that are typical of the Alsace region.

Wissembourg, the border town of France, is simply charming. Saint Peter and Paul is the centre of the fortress, which can be explored via beautiful hiking trails. Very busy at weekends, so you have to be lucky to get a seat in a café. The Alsatian chocolate street begins here. If you want to try something, visit the Cafe Rebbert in the pedestrian zone.
