Heinersreuth Castle is privately owned by Baron Ludwig von Lerchenfeld. It was built around 1500 by the Barons von Wildenstein. In 1697 ownership passed to Carl Friedrich Freiherr Voit von Rieneck to Trun- and Traustadt, who was then raised to the rank of count. The castle was the seat of the patrimonial court. In 1823, King Maximilian I Joseph awarded the fief to Baron Maximilian Emanuel von Lerchenfeld, royal Bavarian minister. In 1827 the ministerial house was built next to the castle.
