The Reformed Synagogue (Sinagoga Neologă), built in 1886/87 in the Moorish style with its typical oriental towers, was restored with the support of the Romanian government after it was partially destroyed by the anti-Semitic "Iron Guard" in 1927. In 1944 it was again badly damaged by the bombing of the nearby train station. The synagogue was rebuilt in 1947. Today it is dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust as the "Temple of the Deportees".
