The PWV knight stone refers to the erlenkopf mountain. The only thing left of the Erlenkopfer farm is the remains of a pump house.

An idyllic, beautifully maintained rest area with knight's stone, boxwood, a beautiful double bench (from the Eppenbrunn tourist and Kneipp association) and the remains of an old pump well - with a beautiful view of an old chestnut tree and a large clearing (= the former farmland).

The knight's stone is one of over 300 knight's stones of the Palatinate Forest Association. He points out the following:

"The Erlenkopferhof was built in 1745 by families from Pirmasens and was demolished in 1973 because the last residents had moved away and the building had become dilapidated. Because the farm was not profitable, it was sold to the Bavarian state in 1870. The latter renovated the property and appointed forest rangers there After the Second World War, a forest worker and his family last lived there due to a housing shortage.

There is almost nothing left of the farm."
