The Forsthaus Stüdenbach is located in the Eppenbrunner Forst, a well-known hiking area. There are various ponds in the area: the Spießweiher on the way from Eppenbrunn, the Sägeweiher right next to the forester's lodge and the Stüdenwoog in the Stüdenbach valley upstream.

The Stüdenbacherhof was mentioned for the first time in 1734, when Jakob Kettenring built a saw and loh mill on the saw pond that already existed at that time (which was called Heydenwoog at the time). In the remote and poor area, the estate experienced frequent changes of ownership until it was bought by the Bavarian state in 1855. He had a property built in 1775 converted into a forest service and the rest torn down.
