The path not only leads, but sometimes also under the rocks. Small caves and narrow passages make the path a special experience. Despite the well laid out path, sturdy shoes are definitely an advantage.

Very nice Bundsandstein rock formations. Nearby there is also a nice resting place on a plateau. From here you have a great view! 👌

On the rocks you can see beautiful patterns that have been eaten into the sandstone by rainfall over the centuries.

- Impressive natural/cultural monument near Eppenbrunn (Rhineland-Palatinate), in the Palatinate Forest, on the French border
- if you don't love "Migration of Nations", you should choose the "right time" for this exploration, it is/can possibly be heavily frequented during holiday periods or when the weather is great for hiking!
- but definitely worth a hike!

Very typical rock group from Buntsandstein. It pays to choose different perspectives depending on the incidence of light. There are some spectacular views.

Impressive rock formation in the entire area around the Altschlossfelsen

The Altschlossfelsen are included in the two premium trails "Altschlosspfad" and "Grenzweg". Both are approx. 10 and 11 km long hiking trails that run around the rocks (on the left and right). An approx. 1.5 km long red sandstone formation with varied color compositions that ensure an extraordinary hiking experience. Easy and problem-free in every respect for hikers who are used to walking ;-)
I recommend Eppenbrunn as a start/finish point, which is also a good place to stop off.
