De Hoanne (Frisian for De Haan) is a monument in memory of the Second World War.
The monument consists of a ten-meter-high brick column, crowned with a bronze statue of a rooster. The rooster was made by sculptor Willem Valk. The animal is in a fighting position, as a symbol of "the urge for freedom of the Dutch people and its willingness to defend that freedom at all costs"
The plaque depicts the municipal coat of arms of Wymbritseradeel with a text in Frisian below[2]
