Hiking
By nature, the Rhine flowed in large loops and loops, so-called meanders, through its lowlands. He had no firm bed and moved especially at high tide his course again. He broke its banks, pitched over pebble islands, and cut loops and slings that turned into old branches and silted up. Such constant changes are typical of natural river landscapes. Plants and animals benefited from these conditions because they always found suitable habitats, albeit never at the same place for a long time.
