Rubens lived with his wife for twenty-five years in this house that the painter bought in 1610. Today converted into a house-museum, we can see several original works by Rubens, as well as works belonging to his private collection, furniture and personal objects.

The Rubens House, home to the Rubens Museum, is one of Antwerp's most visited attractions today.
In 1610, Rubens had a house built on what is now the Wapper.
The maestro himself designed the architecture. The house, in the Italian Renaissance style, was also designed as a workshop. Rubens spent most of his life in his house in Antwerp, which only became property of the city after about 300 years. Shortly after World War II, the renovated house was converted into the Rubens Museum.
