About Udo unter freiem Himmel

Our hike today basically starts at the valley station of the Pfingsteggbahn. The historic gondola takes us up to the Pfingstegg mountain station in just under 5 minutes, accompanied by folkloric loudspeaker sounds. The view from the cabin, if it weren't blocked by tourists pulling out cell phones, is

    1. Why should you pay a visit to the town of Rheinfelden in Aargau? Well, because otherwise you would have missed one of the most beautiful medieval Rhine towns on the Swiss side. The small, cute old town with its winding, cobbled streets and alleyways, cozy squares and lovingly maintained house fronts

    1. Today we went to the beautiful Hallwil Lake. A “small” tour that can easily be extended and redesigned x times. Hallwyl Castle plays a central point in the hike. As one of the most beautiful and romantic moated castles in Switzerland, it has become a real tourist hotspot, similar to the Château Chillon

    1. Going on a cool gorge hike when the temperature is over 30° is never wrong. Our journey begins in the canton of Vaud. namely at the station "Croy-Romanmôtier", where the path leads us through the green "Canyon Nozon" and later to the medieval town of "La Sarraz" with its castle of the same name. 1. Because the weathermen predicted 35° heat for the coming day, we did what we should have done long ago. Namely the Taubenloch Gorge, between Frinvilier and Biel, pay a cooling visit. The naming of the gorge, which is influenced by the river Schüss, has different origins. In none of the cases does it

    1. Anyone who spends their free time in the Jura, especially in the 3 lake region of Lake Neuchâtel, Lake Biel and Lake Murten, should reserve some of it for Neuneburg's local mountain "Chaumont" with its panorama tower. It is worth it .. From the La Coudre valley station, a colorful and quite steep funicular

    1. Eguisheim. The pearl among French villages.

The approximately 1700 soul village of Eguisheim on the Alsatian Wine Route has now been voted the "most beautiful village in France" several times. Rightly so, it seems to us, because when we built the medieval winegrowing village, which was built almost in

    1. Many know the village of Kaysersberg in Alsace, mainly from the Advent season. Then when the famous Christmas markets are held in the Rhine area shortly before Christmas, which attract thousands of visitors from near and far every year. But Kaysersberg offers much more than just that Christmas tree feeling

    1. Riquewihr. One village, one spirit and endless charm. If you follow the Alsatian Wine Route, you absolutely have to take a break in this uniquely beautiful and very well-preserved wine village and medieval town. Along with «Ribeauvillé» «Kaysersberg» and «Eguisheim», it is certainly one of the most striking

    1. If you are moving along the Alsatian Wine Route, you should definitely make a stop at the Haut-Koenisbourg mountain fortress, along with all the other beauties of the Rhine region. It is one of the most impressive medieval castles in France and can best be compared to the Chateau Chillon in Switzerland
