There is evidence that wine was first cultivated here in 1521 under Ernst the Confessor. A devastating hailstorm in 1713 destroyed all the vines. Wine has been cultivated again since 1980 and the Hidesaker Weinbergdroplet has been produced. Not only the 99 vines are something special, the unique view from the vineyard to the Elbe river landscape and the old town of Hitzacker will inspire you.
