Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul, Stans
The Catholic parish church was built in 1641-1647 in the early Baroque style. It is the 6th church on this site. The Romanesque tower dates from the 12th/13th century. Inside, the Gothic chandelier in the choir, the choir organ and the statues of St. Nicholas of Flüe (1417-1487) and Brother Konrad Scheuber (1481-1559) are particularly noteworthy.

Chapel of Our Lady, Stans from 1647
At the bottom left next to the open staircase of the parish church is the entrance to the underground Chapel of Our Lady, which is popularly known as "Mary under the hearth". The pilgrimage chapel located under the left aisle of the parish church was already mentioned in an indulgence letter from 1493. The current chapel was consecrated in 1647. The chapel is a valued oasis of peace and a much-visited place of prayer.
