Regardless of the time of year or day, the view of the Plessewald and Reyershausen is always beautiful. The view extends to the northeast to the Brocken. At Reyershausen you can still see the potash heap of the Hindenburg mine. Until the 1980s, the heap was conspicuously visible as a red-brown stain. It is now green and more difficult to see. Allegedly, the greening of a potash heap was successful for the first time in the world.
