The former Cistercian monastery of Chorin is picturesquely located behind the vineyard on a lake. The red brick walls tower high and can compete with the old trees in the park. The Gothic design language and the filigree ornamentation of the large cathedrals such as those in Cologne, Paris and Siena were transformed into brick for the first time in Brandenburg.

Chorin is therefore a key work of North German brick Gothic. Many other churches in the near and far surroundings were built based on the model of the Chorin Cistercian church. These include the Franciscan churches in Berlin and Angermünde as well as St. Mary's Church in Neubrandenburg.

The forestry office is a building worth seeing, but unfortunately the rest area on the property under the impressive thick oak tree is obviously not intended for tourists. At least there is the chance to get information material or learn interesting details in the facility. Just behind the main building, a forest nature trail branches off, but it is now pretty dilapidated. Everything looks almost like pure wilderness.
There is a nice rest area with a view of the countryside directly opposite the forestry office and this is undoubtedly there for everyone.
