The art project "Stoa 169", which is being built on the Ammer river bank west of Polling, includes the construction of a pillared hall with 13x13 so 169 pillars. It is an overall concept that is carried by artists from all over the world and from three generations. The idea for the pillared hall comes from Bernd Zimmer, who developed it 30 years ago. The foundation stone was laid in November 2019. In the meantime, the project is not being realized with 169 columns - as originally planned - but only with 121 "exhibits".

Visitors can reach the columned hall either by bike or on foot from the car park near the railway tracks. From there, you can walk for about ten minutes through beautiful surroundings on a path that can be used for agriculture up the Ammer to an old river loop. There you can see the columned hall. "It is important to me that the uniqueness of nature can be perceived at the same time as the art in this place," says Bernd Zimmer.
