Sand was mined here between 1968 and the mid-1980s. The community of Neermoor then acquired the resulting cave in 1992, whereupon they created this bathing lake over the next 9 years. In a combination of bathing and a so-called "nature protection zone", the area has a shimmering and non-swimmer area, toilets and ample lawns for sunbathing and playing. So all in all a great opportunity to take a dip here on a tour in summer. Why not?

Tested personally yesterday morning and found to be good. Very well-kept swimming lake with toilet block. What is special - bathing fun and nature conservation are in harmony here - the natural area is separated by a chain of buoys.

Hiking
A lovely stop on a hike is the Neermoor bathing lake. Here you can take a leisurely break and go for a swim or simply enjoy the view.
