The Weitsee is the largest lake in the so-called three lakes area between Reit im Winkl and Ruhpolding. It is located in the Eastern Chiemgau Alps nature reserve (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%96stliche_Chiemgauer_Alpen), so special consideration must be given. No watercraft of any kind are allowed on the Weitsee. Three bathing spots are excellent, including the one marked here. The water of the lake is crystal clear, wonderfully refreshing, the bottom of the lake only slopes slowly, so that entry and exit are no problem for young and old.
