Lamanai is an impressive Mayan ruin in Belize, located deep in the rainforest and accessible via the New River. It is a top destination for Belize shore excursions. Inhabited from approximately 1500 BC until the Spanish colonial period, the site includes large temple pyramids, including the "High Temple" and the "Temple of the Masks," known for its monumental mask sculptures.
