In the early morning, the lake is mostly populated by locals jogging or doing tai chi exercises before work.
In 2016, the lake gained global attention when an endangered dead Yangze softshell turtle was recovered from the water. At that time she was one of four surviving specimens of her kind worldwide.
Cross the red The Huc Bridge to get to the Jade Mountain Temple.
The temple stands on a small island and was built in 1875.
