This car park (with toilets) is owned by the Snowdonia National Park Authority. Parking for the whole day costs £6.00, for up to 4 hours £3.00. This is not a large parking lot. In the summer period and on weekends you must arrive early to get a spot. The starting point of the Watkin path is about a hundred meters away.

Hiking

If you park in the laybys near PYG and the Pen y Pass junction don't forget to buy a parking ticket (cash only!) and get it for more hours than you think you'll need. Cars are checked and no-one wants to he rushing off Yr Wyddfa because your parking ticket is expiring!
The off-road footpath up to Pen y Pass is a good warm up!
