"Königswinter station on the right bank of the Rhine in Königswinter was opened on July 11, 1870, as part of the extension of the right bank railway line from Neuwied to Oberkassel.
The station, which has been expanded several times, was once the tourist gateway to the Siebengebirge Mountains. Local crafts and industry also benefited from the city's connection to the right bank railway line, which has been in continuous use since 1871.
Today, the station is served by the RE 8 and RB 27 lines.
