Hiking

The origins of the church are lost in legend. Tradition holds that San Martino was the first city chapel of Treviso, built by Felice, the first historically attested bishop (mid-6th century). However, more recent research shows that it is later (late 7th - early 8th century; the first mention dates from 670), after the foundation by the monks of the monastery of San Teonisto di Casier on which it depended. The latter was in turn connected to the Veronese Abbey of San Zeno.

The Chiesa di San Martino Urbano is a church in the historic center of Treviso. It was destroyed during the bombing of 1944 and rebuilt in a modern way, but has very ancient origins.
