Built around 1550The "lower dyeing" was in the inner courtyard, and you can still see the hanging device for the fabric panels on the outside of the city wall!Landsberg blue fuscous was in great demand, a mixture of cotton and linen! The city seal already existed at that time as a protection against counterfeiting.

Textiles used to be dyed in the Dyer's Court, a beautiful Renaissance courtyard.

The Dyer's Yard is located directly in front of the Sandauertor. This is where the dyers used to live and hang their fabrics on poles to dry. A sculpture with hanging fabrics reminds us of the importance of the yard.
