The Lauerturm in Ettlingen was once the defensive tower and northern watchtower of Ettlingen's old city wall from the 14th century. The tower with loopholes was then added to the existing battlement of the approximately 4-meter-high city wall in the 16th century and is now the landmark of the city of Ettlingen.
