Thousands of Siberian irises transform the meadows into a blue sea of flowers, interspersed with a few yellow patches of water iris.
The Siberian iris, known locally as iris, is a critically endangered species that arguably has the most beautiful populations in Germany on Lake Constance.
The name derives from the species' distribution, which extends to Western Siberia.
However, it is a native wild plant that was not introduced by humans!
