About helli-man

It snowed, so get out before it's gone ...
After sliding around in the forest yesterday, we took a relaxed walk today and visited the "old well-known" water tower again, it is still standing :-)It's just nice to walk around in the snow.a day ago

Today on foot again, but as a couple :-).From the Hüttenhohl parking lot up to the Hüttenberghütte below the Felsenmeer, the paths are currently as smooth as glass! Respect for the few bikers we saw, I've already smeared my bike twice on ice rinks under snow, so I prefer to leave it at the moment.
Along the sea of rocks in the direction of Kalmit, hell was already going on this morning, many families with sledges, that's why we skipped the Kalmit and headed straight for Breitenberg. Here, too, everything iced over with a little snow, pretty nasty.
From the parking lot on to the Hüttenhohl parking lot. It was full around 1pm ... Nice tour with at least a bit of winter feeling.2 days ago

Did a lap around the church tower before lunch in good weather. After Duttweiler to the festival hall, then to the water tower, via the B39 and then back again. This time again without the kids, they were still doing “Bubu” when we started walking. :-)

To finish 2020, start again early today and repeat the last lap, but this time with snowfall ...
The Kalmit parking lot was already half full at 9am.
I wish you a good start into the new year, good luck and health. Take care of yourself and your loved ones! See you soon in 2021.December 31, 2020

Turned a lap in rain and fog without the kids, it was nice and quiet.
Komoot made a race out of it and mixed up all the photos ...
It was just under 2 hours, not 30 minutes.December 28, 2020

Finally biking again, yesterday the mudguards mounted, clothes straightened and we set off very early today. It's amazing that the hour with light and the low temperatures suck a good 10km out of the battery ...
It was still enough for me, and especially beautiful in winter on the Loog and Kalmit :-)
I would leave the trails up to date, everything is so soapy and especially here in the region with roots and stones, it's not without it. But there are enough alternative ways on the road to let off steam.
As always, getting up early to make it work with the hikers is good for both of them.December 26, 2020

We used the nice weather to at least move a little, we have the kids,
(Irony on)
under threat of massive, psychological cruelty (i.e. cellphone and tablet ban :-)) "persuaded" to come along, probably an "inner flower picking" for all parents, which never causes tension ...
(Irony off)
The weather was great and once again the view from the Kalmit to the Rhine plain too. The parking lot directly below the Kalmit was jam-packed, the parking lot "Am Breitenberg", where we had parked, was still working at first, but then it was closed around 3:20 pm.
Understandable, it's just wonderful in the forest.
In retrospect, the kids also liked it, even so much that one or the other self-shot photo in the profile or status at I don't know where it ended up.December 19, 2020

I exchanged my crazy NobbyNics for Magic Mary in the front and Big Betty in the back (what a miserable action :-(). It was worth it, clearly new tires, a lot of grip, but these things "bite" more underground than the Nobby's (also compared to new Nobby's), is especially noticeable uphill ...Otherwise nice quiet tour, I started shortly after 7am, down below cold with almost 2 ° and foggy, up on the Kalmit over 10 ° and sunny. It rained briefly, but not really much.
From the Kropsburg I am "directly" up the trail to the Hochberg, without a peace monument. I had to get off and push it 4-5 times, or to weigh the bike over blocked spots.
It was empty in the forest until around 10 a.m. (1 female mountain biker at Kalmit), when I was on the way back I met some hikers, bikers and Nordic walkers, everything I did right :-)
Cool idea from someone to put a soup spoon in the soup bowl. The parking lot below the Hohen Loog is currently completely closed (depending on the situation).November 8, 2020

End of the holiday, actually wanted to biking more during the almost 1 1/2 weeks, but that turned into gardening and what else you do on the house :-).Autumn is obviously there, you not only notice it visually, but also on the very slippery trails, especially the mossy roots and rocks are extremely nasty. A little tip, reduce tire pressure a little, gives you more grip. Otherwise, drive with foresight, especially if the paths / trails are covered with leaves, there will be a surprise or two ...
In terms of clothing, it was the first time for me today with a softshell jacket and pants for this autumn, which I had to realize (again): Summer gloves (no matter whether short or long) are no good at 4-5 ° C.
Otherwise it was wonderfully quiet today on my little tour, only a small group of hikers on the Kalmit, otherwise nobody.October 27, 2020
