The town hall on the market square in Rinteln's old town dates back to the 13th century. It received its current appearance with a façade in the style of the Weser Renaissance at the end of the 16th century. Since the New Town Hall was moved into in 1898, this building has been used as a restaurant (Ratskeller) and event venue.
