Hiking
It’s an exciting highlight walking up to Loch Etchachan. The crags have climbing routes on them and offer some trad climbing in the area. The walk up the path towards them is enjoyable and stopping at the small bothy to take in the views on a hot sunny day is recommended.

Early June 2024 I slept here one night after walking the Derry Cairngorn.
My Garmin showed 0 degrees the next morning with a perceived temperature of -7! ;-)
The next morning I packed up the tent again to do the Ben Macui.

There is absolutely nothing at this location, and certainly no bothy, approximately 1mi north from the peak of Derry Cairngorm. The bothy in the photo looks like the Hutchinson Memorial Hut which is about 1mi to the east.
