The Buitenmolen is the only still active mill in Berendrecht and Zandvliet.
It is known that the Buitenmolen dates from 1822 and was to replace the Oostmolen, which was located further east. In addition to brick, wood, lime and cement, rye flour was also used to build the mill.

Hiking

Apparently this mill has had a rather turbulent past in recent decades in connection with lands, properties, sales and other situations. Whatever the case: you can visit it via the small 'slow path' that was given the name Toon Verbraakpad. And under the name Toon Verbraak it says 'He had the dilapidated Buitenmolen restored with much mill love' and the year 1996. I couldn't get there via the main road to the café (with parking). Annual leave until 18 September.
