The artwork contains the DNA of Zandvliet and Berendrecht that Albert De Vree made together with Bart De Keyser of BDK Design, teachers Ward Hendrickx and Rune Bastiaenssens and students from PITO from Stabroek.
The artwork was placed on the corner of Zoutestraat and De Derdeweg. It was placed on a heavy concrete block.
The artwork shows the DNA profile of the Polder in 9 scenes, according to artist Albert De Vree.

Cycling

In 2019, Berendrecht and Zandvliet celebrated their 900th anniversary and to celebrate this, a four-metre-high work of art was inaugurated in early December 2019. The work of art made of stainless steel and inox, which was given the name 'The DNA of the Polder', was created by Albert De Vree. Together with the final-year welding students of PITO Stabroek, nine welded connections were made. 'The DNA of the Polder' is a work of art full of symbolism about the two polder villages.
