The concentration camp Schillstrasse in Brunswick was built on November 5, 1944 as an external camp of the Neuengamme concentration camp. This concentration camp satellite camp of the SS was also referred to as Büssing-NAG / Schillstraße after the company, for which initially around 2,000 concentration camp inmates had to perform forced labor in the armaments production of Braunschweiger Automobilwerke Büssing-NAG. In March 1945, the concentration camp was dissolved because the production in the Büssing works had to be stopped due to bomb damage. The prisoners were transferred to other concentration camps.
