The Rotkäppchenland railway cycle path is a railway line cycle path in northern Hesse that runs between Treysa and Niederaula over a length of 49.1 kilometers. The railway cycle path is part of the German Mittelland Route (D4)[1], which runs from Aachen via Bonn, Siegen, Erfurt, Jena and Chemnitz to Zittau, as well as the German Unity Cycle Route. The cycle path is designed as a premium route on the section that runs along the old railway line. The approximately three-meter-wide roadway is asphalted throughout, intersections with federal, state and district roads are particularly well developed, and there are no barriers to prevent crowding.
