Tips
A detour here is worth it alone because of the great view that you have from the top of the tower. You can look far into the Haunetal and Fuldatal. Unfortunately, access to the tower is currently blocked (April 2020) due to the risk of the trees breaking.

There is a massive lookout tower and a refuge up here. From the tower, I took photos in all directions that show the distant view.

The forested hilltop houses a 25 meter high lookout tower made of precast concrete. The Heussner Tower has been in existence since 1922 (timber construction), was rebuilt in 1964 and restored in 1990.
