The Mill is surrounded by fords that are quite deep at times. There are footways and steps around the water that need a bit of love - i.e. they're falling apart. A few of the roads around here are gravelly. A word of caution: The nearby Redbourn Road (A5183) is a nightmare for speeding cars and trucks so approach the mill from Beesonend Lane.

1. The Mill itself (and the shop) only opens 1 or 2 days a week. You should check their website.
2. The mill is accessible by car only from the A5183. For cyclists there is the further option to cross the ford to the north of the mill and use the lane up to the A1081 (Harpenden-StAlbans road). It's a good road but a longish climb. Single lane, some passing places for occasional car traffic heading from Harpenden to the Fishing/shooting centre.
