The Fuhlbüttler lock was built in 1914 with a lock chamber and two weir fields on the side of the lock chamber. Reconstruction measures were carried out in 1934 and 1968 until after 100 years of existence in 2014 a complete renovation with previous partial demolition could be completed. Due to their age, the structure of the lock chamber and the bank walls had become porous and cracked.
