Hiking

A Zehnthof (a farmstead that paid tithes) is already mentioned in the Böblingen land register of 1495. In the German Peasants' War of 1525, the tithe formed one of the main points of peasant criticism. The striking structure of the Zehntscheuer (tithe barn) on the medieval town wall was erected in the late 16th century in place of a predecessor. In the following period, the Zehntscheuer underwent several renovations.

The Zehntscheuer on the old city wall is one of the most striking buildings in the Böblingen city skyline. Since 1987, it has housed the German Peasant War Museum.
