The Baroque Castle Königshain
The naturalist Carl Adolph Gottlob von Schachmann built a French-style Baroque castle near the Königshain Renaissance castle between 1764 and 1766. After the researcher's death, the entire property passed to Carl Heinrich von Heynitz, a nephew of Schachmann. The family owned the estate until 1945. Towards the end of the Second World War, Königshain Castle served as the main medical station. To this day, two cemeteries in the castle park remind us of this time.

Today, the castle is used for cultural purposes, weddings and changing exhibitions, as well as music events, take place.
