The Hochstein is a mountain in the Königshainer Mountains in eastern Upper Lusatia west of the town of Görlitz in the Görlitz district. It is located northwest of the municipality of Königshain.
The Hochstein is 397.2 meters high and is therefore the second highest elevation in the Königshain Mountains after the 415 meter high Ahlberg in the Kampfberge. In the summit area there is a mountain inn, a lookout tower and some free-standing rock towers made of Upper Carboniferous Königshain granite that have been spared from quarry operations and which show clear wool sack weathering here. The observation tower is a 22 meter high steel structure with a round viewing platform. The Hochstein can be reached via a road closed to public transport and several hiking trails.
The European long-distance hiking trail E10 runs over the Hochstein in the Niesky–Löbau section and the Way of St. James in the Görlitz–Weißenberg–Bautzen section.

Nice excursion destination in the Königshain Mountains, with a lookout tower.

There is a cottage on top of the Hochstein. Here you can eat and drink well and cheaply. There is also a parking lot here for those who do not want to hike. A lookout tower and some rocks to climb up.
