The first Beelitz schoolhouse was a one-story building made of bricks and clay, covered with a thatched roof. It was located next to the rectory at the time on the edge of the churchyard and served as a joint school for boys and girls. In the only classroom, the children were taught by the pastor, who was also the headmaster of the school.
In 1821 the old school building was replaced by a two-story half-timbered house. In 1900 the school operations moved to the new building at the Lustgarten in front of the gates of the old town.
Extensive renovation and repair work took place in the early 1980s. Kirchplatz 5 has been part of the city administration since 1992/93 and belongs to the town hall of Beelitz.
