The Wengern village church is a listed church building in the center of Wengern, a district of Wetter (Ruhr) in North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located just a few meters above the stream in the Elbsche valley in the area of the confluence of Opfersiepen and Schmalenbecke, two smaller streams. The neighboring buildings include the glue box and the mill (Henriette Davidis Museum).The church, which has been rebuilt and expanded several times, dates back to medieval origins. The current building is characterized by the stone-faced Ruhr sandstone masonry and has been part of Wetter's list of listed buildings since 1985.The village church is used by the Wengern Evangelical Parish, which belongs to the Hattingen-Witten church district of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia.Source and link to the full article:
