It was built under the patronage of the Catholic Monarchs over the main mosque. During its construction, a series of styles followed one another, from early Mudejar to Gothic with Renaissance touches. The most notable element of the interior is the altarpiece of the Annunciation, dating from the end of the 15th century. Several Easter processions take place in the Church of the Incarnation.

Construction began in the 15th century and continued until 1614, resulting in a blend of architectural styles: Mudejar, late Gothic, and Renaissance.
