With its green and white façade, turret, ornate gables, and balconies, the building immediately catches the eye. Two buildings and architectural styles are truly united under one roof: the western gable is Historicist, and the eastern gable is Art Nouveau. Originally, this was the site of Barbara Maria Spalding's Convent, the so-called "Spalding Monastery." After World War II, it was used for a variety of purposes, initially as quarters for the Soviet occupation troops, then as a police station, library, bank, residential space, and until the early 1990s as a medical center.

Hiking
The main building of the "post office" was built in 1891 and officially opened a year later. Its architectural appearance is a successful example of the Wilhelminian - historical utility building construction of those days. An extension was added in 1902. This building stands on the former market pond. Since 2010, the editorial office of the local press has been located in this building.
