A sculpture made of old copper, "Statio," by the artist Pablo Hirndorf, on the church forecourt from 2010. This sculpture is connected to the copper sheet exhibition "Stations of the Cross" inside the collegiate church of St. Materniani et St. Nicolai, also known as "Bücker Dom." Thematically, the sculpture belongs to the fourteen Stations of the Cross in the Bücken collegiate church that Hirndorf created. It is therefore definitely worth taking a look inside the church.

The two abstract-looking figures facing each other invite you to rest, pause, and meet - fitting with the Latin title "Statio," which means "stopping point" or "place of standstill." In the immediate vicinity is the aforementioned, impressive Bücken collegiate church, an important Romanesque building that also invites you to take a short break.

For cyclists, the sculpture offers not only a visual break, but also a symbolic invitation to pause for a moment and consciously perceive the landscape, history and spirituality of the place.

      “STATIO”
The fountain sculpture “STATIO” bears the Latin name for stopping point, rest, station.
In the former collegiate church there are 14 Stations of the Cross made from old copper sheets from the tower covering.
These are related in many ways to the fountain sculpture, which is the 15th station outside
      enters the world.
The sculpture created by the artist Pablo Hirndorf is surrounded by 10 boulders from the
surrounding places were brought to this central place.

The hose tower built in 1912 by the voluntary fire brigade in Bücken is also on the market square and is a beautiful building to look at.
