The chapel (also called the Chapel of Our Lady) was first mentioned in a document in 1266, making it the oldest place of worship in the city of Zug.
The Marian cycle on the ceiling from the choir to the gallery, created by the famous baroque painter Johannes Brandenberg from Zug, deserves attention.

The oldest church still in existence is the Chapel of Our Lady. The Loreto Chapel and the St. Verena Chapel, which can be reached via a station path towards Zugerberg, date from the Baroque period. Also worth mentioning are the cemetery chapel and the chapel belonging to the Institut Montana on the Zugerberg.
