The parish church of St. Nikolaus in Mühldorf am Inn was first built in 1251, but fell victim to a fire. It was built as a Romanesque-early Gothic building in the style of a basilica. It was rebuilt around 1300. This structure was replaced from 1432 to 1443 by a late Gothic new building, which, however, left the church tower and the entrance portal into the nave. In 1768 the interior was redesigned in baroque style.
