It is partly built in ironstone and is a complex consisting of a pastor's house, an outbuilding and a gatehouse with a pigeon tower.
The buildings are surrounded by a moat and the domain is delimited by a brick wall.
The pastors, Norbertines from Averbode, lived within the shelter of the moat and could only go outside via the drawbridge. In times of war this shelter was not a luxury
