The name of the Franconian Line hiking trail has been chosen somewhat confusing. The path offers very nice views of the Franconian Line, but does not run directly along it. The edge path in Fischbach in particular uses a shell limestone reef edge and not directly the Franconian line. You can't look at the Franconian Line here either, but you have very nice views of the Fischbachtal.
Anyone who came up with the idea of creating a path directly on the edge of the reef must have had an ingenious nose for beautiful hiking trails. In addition, he must have been very diligent, because creating the path was not so easy work without excavators, vehicles, etc.
It is certainly one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the Kronacher district and a little thrill for MTB riders.
